More Info

While the KeyArena at Seattle Center (more commonly known as KeyArena) may not host the Sonics anymore, it does host a number of ice shows, circuses, and some of the biggest concerts in the Seattle area. The arena also hosts games for Seattle University's Redhawks basketball team, as well as the WNBA's Seattle Storm and the Rat City Rollergirls. Other than CenturyLink Field and Safeco Field, KeyArena has the largest seating capacity of any venue in Seattle, making it an ideal spot to host musicians like Death Cab for Cutie, Journey, and Keith Urban.

The arena sits on the former site of the Seattle World's Fair, which inspired the construction of the Space Needle and the design for the arena itself. It was originally called Seattle Center Coliseum, but the name changed shortly after massive renovations in 1995. The renovations stayed true to the arena's original designs, but enhanced the facilities and better adhered to NBA standards. Improvements have made KeyArena the best place in Seattle to watch superstar, mainstream musicians.

While the KeyArena may not retain its name long due to its loss of sponsorship from KeyCorp, it will continue to present the concerts, sporting events, and other events to the People of Seattle. For a full schedule of events at the KeyArena, check the events calendar on Eventful.
