Joshua Radin: Joshua Radin has emerged as one of the top folk singer-songwriters of our generation. Joshua Radin tour dates have made him one of the most acclaimed indie performers on the folk-scene. He has generated a loyal fan-base and has become a touring sensation. Don't miss a date on the Joshua Radin concert schedule 2011. Born and raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio; Radin directed his creative energies towards drawing and painting at Northwestern University. After graduation he worked as an art teacher and a writer, however, he soon ditched the paintbrush for a guitar. He moved to New York and self-taught himself to play and write music. In 2004, Radin released his debut EP First Between 3rd and 4th. It featured the single "Winter", which Zach Braff used in an episode of his hit show Scrubs. The buzz from the single and regularly scheduled Joshua Radin tour dates garnered major label attention and Radin was picked up by Columbia Records.

Radin released his debut album We Were Here in 2006 to critical acclaim. The album was heralded by Rolling Stone magazine who awarded the disc with four stars. Joshua Radin tour dates were scheduled internationally and he shared the stage with such superstars as Sheryl Crow and Tori Amos to name a few. The album was not a commercial success, however, several of the songs were licensed out to shows including Grey's Anatomy and Scrubs.

For his sophomore album, Radin enlisted prolific producer Rob Schnapf whose production discography includes studio work with Beck and Elliott Smith, to produce Simple Times. An instant success, the album debuted at #1 on the iTunes chart and featured the hit single "I'd Rather Be With You". Several songs were included on the hit TV shows One Tree Hill and 90210. Josh Radin's concert schedule included another nationwide tour and he made the rounds on the late-night circuit performing on Conan and Late Night with Jay Leno. His songs were even being covered by American Idol hopefuls on the top-rated competition show.

More recently, Josh Radin released The Rock and the Tide in October, 2010. Another success, it debuted at #1 on the iTunes chart and reached #31 on the Billboard 200, becoming his highest charting album to-date. In support of this recent effort, Joshua Radin tour dates are scheduled throughout the nation and Australia. Additional Joshua Radin concert dates are scheduled alongside Sara Barielles on her Summer, 2011 tour. Use Eventful as your source for the Joshua Radin concert schedule 2011 and upcoming tour dates.

Rachael Yamagata: A few rounds of heartbreak … a broken wrist … eight stitches … a blown-out eardrum … and label realignment.

It wasn’t easy getting here for Rachael Yamagata. Three years after she began to appear on the public’s radar with her self-titled debut EP and full-length album Happenstance, Rachael will release Elephants…Teeth Sinking Into Heart, a single record in two parts, on October 7th, 2008.

“I didn’t set out to make a two part album,” Yamagata says. “We just followed the songs’ lyrical lead and built them up with textures and sounds that served the story. We used the sounds of rain, tree branches falling on the roof — whatever kept the mood true to this haunted studio in the first stormy days of spring. The second part became more anthemic, like a reclaiming of personal power. There’s something raw about it.”

The nine tracks on Elephants are darker and more vulnerable than the five gritty, defiant rock songs on Teeth Sinking Into Heart. Taken together, the two halves present a complete timeline of the emotions that revolve around complicated relationships and the accompanying fallout. “Elephants is much more intimate,” Yamagata says. “It’s about being willing to take a risk even if it’s not going to end up well. Teeth is like rediscovering your backbone after you’ve gone through the loss.”

Of the two CDs’ 15 tracks, 12 were produced by the Nebraska-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Mike Mogis, known for his work with Bright Eyes and Rilo Kiley. Two tracks, “What If I Leave” and “Horizon,” were produced by John Alagia (John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band), who also produced Happenstance.

“Elephants” opens the first part; she ran down a mountain in Woodstock and, by the time she ran back up, the song was written. “I don’t really know where it came from,” she says. “When I went back and reviewed the lyrics, they said so much more than I could have wished for.

Teeth Sinking Into Heart’s up-tempo grittiness is the answer to that. “Sidedish Friend” takes on the perils of being someone’s part-time lover, while “Pause The Tragic Ending,” is about “a vampire who knew me so well, it almost drew blood from me,” Yamagata says. “I could probably name every album Pause The Tragic Ending.” The second part closes with “Don’t” — a calling-out and warning, but tongue-in-cheek at the same time. Again, an epilogue to lost love, but this time from someone who knows what she wants, who acknowledges her responsibility in all that’s happened, and who will go on.

Brandon Jenner: Through my music, I would like to help bring peace, clarity and awareness to the world and to myself.  I hope that my message will inspire my friends, family, and fellow human beings to be more aware of our commonalities rather than our differences.  Within the journey of our own self improvement lies the foundation for a better world for everyone.  I believe, individually and collectively, we have the power to shape the world in which we live. With love and belief in you, Brandon
